We had been very very good at keeping the LSS (Light Sound Service) news page up to date, however recent events have meant that we slipped a little. Never fear though, we are here, we are back and here is a very quick roundup of what we have been up to the past number of weeks.

Installations have been very busy with LSS installing sound systems, RGB LED lighting, architectural lighting and CCTV into a number of new pubs, nightclubs, bars and live music venues over the past few months. Despite the slight downturn in the early parts of the year we have planned carefully and worked hard to ensure our products and service are the best all round solution for our clients. Our new speaker range has proven more popular than we could have ever imagined. Our initial shipment of our FDB speakers has now almost sold out but we have another very large shipment on the way. One of the beneficiaries of these new speakers is Neesons in Newbridge who received a new sound system courtesy of LSS and FDB Audio.

LSS were asked to install a sound system in this venue that would not only provide audio for racing and matches during the day and weekends but one that would also stand up to the pressures of a busy weekend night and deliver high quality voice and music reproduction. Light Sound Service installed a complete FDB Audio sound system in all areas including the bar, lounge and the amazing new smoking area. LSS and the client are very pleased with the results and with the audio system coming in under budget and exceeding performance expectations LSS provided the solution on time, and under budget!

CCTV systems still remain at the core of our business! A lot of operators, venues and homes are very aware that during these testing times it is critical to ensure that they keep their business, their staff and customers and themselves safe. Our high quality digital CCTV camera systems comprising of professional colour or black and white cameras and digital recorders are now offering these people the piece of mind they crave. With remote access via the internet or a phone our systems are leading the way in security and CCTV in Ireland. We would love to give you some reference sites for our latest CCTV installations but that might not be the greatest idea..........

Architecutural lighting and RGB LED have also kept us very busy. LED tape is the latest thing to tickle the fancy of designers up and down the country and as a leading supplier of RGB LED fixtures LSS have been inundated with requests for our LED and driver solutions. We have also just completed a large scale RGB lighting installation in Dublin which deserves an article all of its own so check back here very soon for news and pictures.

LSS have started the installation of equipment at this years Star Wars Invasion event in Dublin. Following on from the roaring success of last years event Invasion has a new central Dublin home this year, the RDS.

Invasion 2011 - Dublin

LSS were heavily involved in the last number of Invasions to have taken place in Dublin and Cork, and were are proud to have been retained for this years Dublin event. Invasion is bigger than before. There are new features and props never seen before in the Republic, as well as new events and the return of the Jedi Academy. Of course no Invasion would be complete without some of the original actors being in attendance!

Light Sound Service will be providing a massive range of products and services to the Invasion Show. All of the props, sets and features will be lit using LSS RGB LED products. the main PA for the questions and answer sessions will be provided by LSS as will the amplifiction, control and operators and finally all stage lighting and laser shows will be provided by LSS using Laserworld lasers and Phoenix control systems.

This will be an event not to be missed this weekend, and we will post some images as soon as we have them available! Come to the Invasion!

LSS are proud to have been involved with the relaunch of the high profile Dublin hotspot, The Mercantile. LSS were responsible for creating an eye catching lighting effect on the front facade of the well known city centre night spot.

Light Sound Service supplied a range of products and services to the venue to ensure that their relaunch was a stand out affair. Occupying a prime location in Dublin's city centre it was important that the passing public were made aware that this landmark dublin music and late venue is open for business again.

LSS were responsible for the design, supply, operation and management of the lighting systems as well as providing the required power via a generator. Some of the products provided by LSS include:

• Laserworld 6w green laser system with Phoenix control system

• High power outdoor colour change wash lights - 2500 watts each CYM Colour change

• Elation pro series 575 spot lights with DMX controller

• Generator system for all power requirements

• All power, cable and control items

As you can see from the images attached Light Sound Service created an eye catching lighting show using our laser and lighting systems. Through our products and systems the venue received massive interest from passing people in the City Centre, thus accomplishing our mission.

Light Sound Service were proud to have been chosen as the supplier of all audio systems for the world title fight and boxing extravaganza that took place in Citywest in Dublin recently. This large event was attended by thousands of paying guests as well as being broadcast live on television. LSS were contacted by the promoters Dolphil who wanted a quality audio system capable of delivering high quality audio to the 4,000+ crowd. Light Sound Service came up with a design and installation plan for a PA system that would meet the brief in terms of quality and ease of installation whilst keeping a keen eye on cost and expenditure.

Light Sound Service provided a high quality DAP Audio professional sound system. We chose the DAP Audio RB Ribbon series from our stocks. Renowned for their high quality audio reproduction as well as having a number of hanging points and rails built into them (making installation/flying very easy), the DAP audio boxes made a perfect choice. We specified a number of the RB -15 for the installation as well as a number of DAP Audio 1000w Sub/Bass speakers. LSS then chose a number of Crest Audio amplifiers and a digital processor to control the speakers. Front of house control was from a 48 channel live mixing console specially acquired by LSS for the event. This console was connected to the outside broadcast units to ensure seamless playback and control of all of the audio sources.

LSS played a key role in this event. As well as being in charge of the audio in the venue, LSS were responsible for many of the live broadcast features seen on RTE (Ireland's national TV Station). LSS were responsible for audio features such as live microphones for the ring announcer and for the live interviews with the fighters. LSS were also responsible for ensuring that the live playback of the entry music for the fighters and the playback of the National Anthems was on cue and executed properly.

Although the main event did not go as we would have hoped, LSS are extremely proud to have been involved in this massive production. We wish all at Dolphil Promotions the very best for the future and we look forward to working with them again soon.

LSS have taken delivery of 5 pallets of speakers that we had ordered and shipped especially for our market. This new delivery further boosts our stock holding of speakers available for immediate delivery and/or installation to nightclubs, bars, DJ's, musicians and more. We have taken delivery of a huge and varied range of speakers. We have in stock and ready to go 8", 10", 12" and 15" speaker cabinets in both plastic and timber formats as well as a large range of bass speakers and background music speakers. February was a busy time for LSS, business was good and we were kept busy constantly. As a result, the news section of the website was left a little bare. So here we are now to tell you where we have been, and what we have done.

We supplied a number of 100v line sound systems for background music in pubs and restaurants around the country. A number of these came as a result of our involvement with the Catex show in the RDS earlier in the year while others were through our own contacts and clients. Small speaker systems are starting from only €500 and these have proven very popular. Background music systems for bars and restaurants are regular work for LSS and if you have a bar, lounge, restaurant or space where you want music LSS can design and supply a system to meet your needs.

We supplied a new lighting rig to The Abbey Tavern in Howth. Our new updated rig allows the clients to remove all of the older par cans which were 500w each and replace them with 36w RGB LED par cans, instantly offering a massive saving on energy. A number of RGB LED disco effects lights and a DMX lighting controller complete the stage for this exciting live venue that offers traditional shows and meals in a stunning setting in Howth.

As well as this LSS provided a number of services to the educational sector. We supplied a wide range of systems from speaker systems, projectors and wall plates to microphones, plasma screens and whiteboards. LSS have a wide experience with the educational sector and our access to quality branded products, and high levels of support have led to us securing a number of projects in the educational sector.

Finally for now we are in the process of planning the next "Invasion" tour with the event organizers. Following on from the success of last years event Invasion is returning to Dublin and this time it will be bigger and better. This year Invasion will be in the RDS in Dublin and will offer a Star Wars spectacle like no other. Light Sound Service have installed a new RCF Sound system into Residence members club in Dublin. The piano room in Residence members club has proven a roaring success with guest artists regularly performing there. The room had out grown the sound system initially installed by Light Sound Service and a new solution was needed to keep up with the growing quality of artists appearing there.

Light Sound Service discussed a number of options with the client. There were a number of criteria put forward, quality, ease of installation, appearance and of course price. Having looked at all of the options available to us, and having taken our clients guidance into account we specified a pair of RCF C3110 Speakers with a bass bin for the room. LSS carried out the installation in this listed and protected building in less than a day with no damage at all to the beautiful building. We adjusted the settings on the system, ensuring the cross overs and amplifiers were set correctly and carried out a full blown demo to our client.

The client is 100% happy with the newly installed RCF system and the improvement over the initial system is incredible! The RCF system offers amazing performance from an extremely small and aesthetic box, at a great price point. LSS were once again involved with Funderland in the RDS in Dublin over the festive period. A family favorite, Funderland returned to the RDS again to great fanfare. As always Funderland was exceptionally busy during its stay in Dublin.

LSS Supplied a number of products and services to Funderland. Offering mainly LED lighting, LSS were responsible for lighting a number of the attractions and rides within Funderland. Low energy, no heat, no UV, no lamp replacement and low maintenance make LED perfect for events such as Funderland. LED is also a solid state light source meaning that the constant vibration of the machines and attractions will not damage the light source. In the case of traditional lights these vibrations would damage halogen or discharge lamps. LSS were proud to be retained by Funderland and we look forward to working closely with them in 2011.

As you will have read here LSS have supplied and installed a whole range of lighting, audio and laser products for Christmas events around the country. As the Christmas period passes these features and events will close and LSS will remove the equipment and bring it back to our warehouse. This equipment is only 4 weeks old at a maximum, has minimal exposure and will show little or no signs of use. LSS will be offering this equipment at amazing, dramatically reduced prices! This will be a great opportunity for any DJ's, musicians, nightclubs or enthusiasts to get some high quality equipment at knockdown prices.
